In late 2011 I'mHalal had to close its search service due to lack of funding. This page has been set up to keep the memories and great achievements of I'mHalal alive.

I’mHalal™ is driven to become the catalyst of innovations in the MENA and SEA region. We're proud of the following innovations that we've introduced in one of the most competitive markets out there:

Democratic Push Algorithm:
I'mHalal™ is the world's first search engine that has partially democratized its search algorithm by allowing its users to rate the relevancy of organic web results.

Cultural Biased Search Algorithm:
By analyzing web pages based on the culture of a specific target group of Internet users we have been able to develop a search algorithm that analyzes content beyond the standard Page Rank method that is built to serve the mainstream market.

Personal Search:
The online landscape is changing. We are getting more and more active on social networks to interact with each other. Sometimes a personal answer on a question from your friends or family is exactly what you need. This is precisely what I'mHalal™ is introducing at the end of the year 2010. I'mHalal™ is the first search engine to integrate social network Questions & Answer (Q&A) in its search platform.

Besides the personal Q&A approach we'll also tap into your social graph from Facebook and Twitter to analyze your graph to return highly personal results via ImHalal.com.

For example when you post on Twitter that you will be in Lahore next week while we know you live in Kuala Lumpur when you search on ImHalal.com our search algorithm will re-order certain search queries related to this update, tailor made for you. In this scenario I'mHalal™ will rank search results from hotels from Lahore higher in the search results to return the most relevant and personal results.
